XM Radio

I am thinking of adding the factory XM Radio (dealer installed) to a 2008 Camry Solara Convertible (have the Navigtor/JBL Premium option so compatibility is not a problem). I have heard and read lots of conflicting threads about this (not necessarily on this forum/site). I am looking for someone who has had this done, preferably on this car with this option. The things I have heard;

1/ dealer mounted the antenna in the trunk, dealer installed the antenna on the trunk lid, dealer installed the antenna on the hood, dealer installed the antenna inside the car. I am sure the best place would be outside the trunk. I will ask, however, am curious where it has been installed by others.

2/ Heard that the dealer package does not utilize all the available characters on the display, truncating and offsetting text. True or not?

3/ Heard that the steering wheel controls scroll through the SAT 1, SAT 2...etc. different then through the FM1, FM2... etc.

Any Validation, verification, comments and experiences will be appreciated.

Hey, I just got Xm installed on my 07 Tundra DC and I really like it. They put the antenna in the truck on the dash in the conner of the driverside. You can't really see it,its the same color as my dash. Looks better than what I had running on top of truck (IMO). It does do the Sat 1 and SAT 2,which is cool bc you can set presents kinda,like you have 202 on Sat 1,or channel 26 on Sat 2. The sound is really good and it doesn't lose signal like my old selfwired unit did. The price is another thing. Total price was 539.10, thats quite a bit, but I could never install something like that and it looks really good and sounds great. So if you have the money I would do the dealer install.

Thanks Yota
