Amp Setup help

I have a Alpine MRP F240. I have a Alpine CDA 9847 head unit. I am trying to bridge my amp to run 1 pair of component speakers. I have 1 question.
To run 2 pairs of speakers this is the diagram the manual gives me

And to run 1 pair of speakers bridged this is the diagram the manual gives me
http://hermesproperties.com/untitled/untitled2.JPG

I am confused as to what to do to run 1 pair bridged. The back of my head unit has 4 RCA ports like the first diagram which makes sense to me. Front and Rear. Can i just connect my RCAs like the first diagram says to bridge my amp or will that not work. I understand that the 2nd Diagram has a Y adapter, which makes sense for the amp but my headunit has a left and right front and a left and right rear, which one would i plug the Y adapter into? This is what i am confused with. I have a 4 Channel RCA cable that i used with my amp before

but was running 2 pairs of speakers on my amp. Do i need a new cable..a Y adapter one? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Ok i have a follow up question...i think i might have figured my problem out...

So my 4 channel amp. I have 4 RCA cables. Do i just use a Y adapter and plug my 4 RCA cables into the amp and then plug the y adapter onto the other end of the cables thus having 2 RCAs to plug into my headunit instead of the 4. Then do i just plug those 2 y adapters into the Front and Left speaker outputs on the back of my headunit?

Any input would be greatly appreciated here...Ive done 1 install before and it worked out great but now im confused...or at least i'm hoping i was confused.

From what I got; you want to run two component speakers from a 4 channel amp, but bridged. (into 2 channels I presume) With most amps if you bridge it you're only going to use one input for the bridged output, not two. So if you're running a 4 channel amplifier into 2 channel bridged mode, all you should need is 2 RCAs connecting up to it. And at the deck you would just use the front or rear L+R outputs, respectively. I don;t see a need for any Y cables.
Hope this helps!
