Installing a new HU into 08 Corolla (gen 9)

Hi everyone,

I currently drive a 1990 toyota camry v6 but i'll be getting a 08 corolla soon. Being that i'm a Sirius subscriber, I'd like to be able to have a direct aux in to listen to my radio and not rely on weak FM transmitters; but at the price of about $80 for one of those external cd changer/aux-in adapters, i might as well get a decent, more powerful head unit.

Now, I've tweaked around with changing the stereo in my camry, but how is the method of changing it on a 9th gen Corolla?

I tried googling for a guide on how to swap the stereo, but i can't find anything...

nevermind. i found a guide for 9th gen corollas:
How to remove the factory car radio (stereo) from a 2006 Toyota Corolla with Pictures!

as anyone tried this? the guy says to remove the center console connections but according to some of the comments, that may mess up the airbag status light, so i'm just asking to see if anyone else has had a problem with that...

Don't unplug the wires from the dash

I used this guide to remove my head unit. Just don't unplug the wires from the dash. If you turn the key and put car in neutral with the parking break up you can get the panel around the shifter off and then you can just set the dash panel to the side while you remove the four bolts to take out the stereo. :-D. Hope this helps.
