stock strieo wattage

Does anyone know what the wattage is for the stock sterio on a 2007 tacoma with the 6 disk in dash cd player is.

most radios are rated at 50x4 but this is the peak power output with a lot of distortion. the RMS power is what you need to know and is what you should base power ratings off of. RMS is the amount of power output that can be consistant without giveing you distortion. most factory radio true or RMS ratings are about 12-15 watts per channel. this is plenty of power to run most sets of coax speakers

Yes. Most, (all) radios boast a 200/50x4 watt output, But the truth is you will not find one over 25 watt RMS a channel, simply because the physical size of the radio wont acommidate a power supply to drive such an amplifier. If you really wanted more power a secondary power amplifier would need to be in place, using highlevel inputs (speaker line).
