Flush mounting a deck

How would I flush mount an aftermarket deck to a Gen3 Camry? The stock mounting bracket precludes me from using the supplied mounting bracket but when I use the stock bracket, the deck sticks out about 3/4 CM. If I want to have it mount flush, do I have to mod the bracket somehow? I don't have a problem drilling the bracket to make it fit, but if I push the deck farther back to have it sit flush, the rear screw holes end up beyond the stock bracket. ANyone help please?

Yes, you will have to drill new holes on the brackets to recess the radio. There is enough room back there. Aftermarket headunits for Toyota are notorious for sticking out due to faceplate and not having a kit available to flush mount since usually, the trim ring can't be used due to its width.

I flush mounted this Alpine HU in a Gen4, which requires the same procedures in a Gen3. I did flush mount an old Kenwood in a Gen3 before, but that was before digicam.

or you can make a bracket out of sheet metal, just screw it into 2 existing mounting holes, and one back to the stock deck one

or you can drill another hole in the side of the deck... which if you want to be real careful you'll have to take the casing off
