ANOTHER audio question, this time front speakers

hey everyone, i finally got my amp and rears installed after two weekends and two cut up hands. i was trying to finish the front components but i realized that the stock speakers use this funky mounting plate to mount it to the door and my aftermarket speakers wont fit in its place. the aftermarket speakers are too small to drill holes in the panel so an adapter is my only option. i was wondering if any of you has made an adapter plate for your fronts or what do you suggest i do about this? thanks for all your help!

Go to your local hardware store and buy some "wood" to cut a custom template.

I forget what the clearance is, but something like 5/16" or 3/8" particleboard should work well on our gen4's. Remember to check the clearance behind your speaker too to make sure the magnet will clear the skin of your door.

like stated above... you either need to buy a adapter plate or custom make your own out of MDF or metal. luckily, when i bought my front components, they came with adapter plates. if you want to see my install click on my banner to get to my site then click on the DIYDS section.
