99 Camry Aux in or cassette adapter

I've got a Toyota 16810 headunit with cassette & single CD from a 99 Camry.

(It's actually installed in my 94 Camry).

I've got a Kenwood CAC-2 cassette adapter for Aux in (MP3), but it has way too much friction and usually the desk reverses a bunch of times and then spits it out. Occasionally I can try a bunch of times and get it to stay in and work.

First, does anybody recommend a particular cassette adapter that's low-friction and doesn't have the endless reverse problem?

Second, I'm wondering about the various aftermarket AUX-IN hardware that use the CD-Changer inputs. Anyone use one with this headunit? It has no AUX or Changer button, so if anyone has used this with either an Aux-in add-on or a changer and knows how to get it into that mode, I'd like to know.

Even if someone could scan the owner's manual pages for this unit, I'd appreciate that.

I've been through several cassette adapters and have never had the issue that you describe. You might just have a defective adapter. My problem was usually the cord would break before the adapter itself.
