where to place crossovers. behind glove box?

as the title states, im looking for a place to hide my crossovers. someplace tucked out of the way. i'd like to place them behind the glove box but i cant get the darn thing out. so how DO you remove the glove box? is it too much trouble? if so does anyone else have any ideas on where to put the crossovers?

I'm assuming you're talking about front component set x-overs.. We usually always find a groove or place to put it in the door. You should find somewhere, it's alot easier to put it in the door..

Unless your front speakers aren't in the door of course!

well the cross over is pretty big and theres no room in the door any where to put it. However, I found a nook that was big enough just above the kick pod, theres a pretty big groove which fit my crossover perfectly. But getting the wires through the grommet in the door was a PAIN IN THE BUTT. and i only managed to get one side installed. *sigh* thanks for the help though!

Sorry, to bring up an old topic, but I am wondering the same thing right now. I just got 2-way coaxials that came with crossovers, and I'm gonna mount them in the door. What would you use to attach them there so they don't vibrate? Epoxy them or what?

Also, if they don't fit it the door I'm gonna try to put them in the map pocket, I guess.

Find a place on the door itself behind the interior panel. Use self tapping screws to mount it to the door. Make sure the interior panel will clear it before mounting it to the door.

Will it be ok if I put it behind the water shield, or will it get wet or something?

I wouldn't recommend putting your crossovers in the door. Because you'll be subjecting them to unnessary vibrations from when you open and close the doors thus causing the internal shit to fall apart. You could do them under the dash with zip-ties if you wanted but then you'd have to get 2 sets of speaker wires into the doors. Getting them wires through the grommet is a major pain in the ass, easiest way to do it is to just cut little holes on each side them just put split loom over the wire. Other than that if you're really anal, you can pop the grommets out from both the door and the door jam and compress it first then stick the wire through. I'd recommend doing this on a warmer day or in a heated garage.

How about putting them somewhere for easy access when you tweak/change/switch things?

Well I put them in the door behind the water shield like so:

It's the black thing with the wires coming out of it under a bunch of mailing tape.

They arent adjustable or anything. They just separate the signal into two signals. One goes to the tweeter, and one to the woofer.
