2nd Generation 93 4Runner deck swap

The factory CD player does not function properly in my 93 4Runner. My vehicle has a 7 speaker system. Will I lose the use of all the speakers if I change to another deck? Will I need an amplifier to power the remaining speakers? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

My suggestion would be to try to find the same stereo on eBay. How are there 7 speakers? That's an odd number to have. Is there a sub or center channel?

Yeah I've been keeping my eye open for ebay auctions selling the same deck.

As far as 7 speakers...2 in front doors, 2 in the dash, and 3 in the rear. I also thought it was an odd number so located them manually when it was warmer out!

Thanks for your help.
