Gen6 Speaker Bracket - Front Door

I am looking in to buying some custom speaker brackets for the front door panel in my gen 6 Camry. They already have some built for a gen 5.5 Camry and I was wondering if the factory speaker brackets for the front door are the same in the gen 5.5 and gen 6? Anybody know if that is the case? If not, does anybody have a picture of the factory speaker brackets in the gen 6 so that I can send him a picture to go from? I haven't ventured in to taking of the door panel in my car yet to snap my own photo.

Edit: I already tried calling a couple of dealerships but I got nowhere. Either I'm not explaining it well enough or they just don't have the part number or any idea if they are the same between the gen 5.5 and gen 6 Camry.

I don't know anything about Gen 6s so this may be a stupid question, but if you haven't taken the door panel off yet, how do you even know you need a custom bracket? I was able to install aftermarket 6-3/4" speakers in my Gen3.5 doors with no bracket. They just mounted directly in the existing opening.

Hey eddie,
I'm actually wanting to put a 6.5" woofer and a 1" tweeter in the factory location in the door panel. I noticed that MrSo0h0o had some custom baffles that hold both in his gen 5.5 in another thread and he was kind enough to point me in the direction of Mr Marv(another user here). He already has some for the gen 5.5 made which is why I'm wondering if they're the same.

Ahh, ok, so you're wanting to do a component setup in the existing single speaker opening. Yep, guess that would require a custom bracket

Well, I've heard good things about Mr Marv. Sounds like he should be the place to go.

Gen 5 and newer Camry use 6x9s in the front doors. Using anything else will require a custom adapter. I have 6.5s in my front doors along with the tweeter in that location. I don't know whether the speakers in Gen 5 & 6 are the same though.

Were you able to find something that fit both components in the front door or did you make something yourself? I haven't done any type of woodwork besides the cheesy projects from shop class in HS Not sure if I could do something myself.

so im assuming you contacted Mr Marv like i said but he doesnt have any templates for the gen 6's? its really not hard to take the door panel off.. i would take an hr or so on the weekend and get familiar with taking panels off if you plan on installing your own system..

Yup, I sent Marv an email. He hasn't had any requests for the Gen 6 yet so he didn't have a template. I will be taking off the door panel this weekend to take pics for him. Just wanted to see if anybody already had this info. Thanks again for the help.

I called the dealers around here and they were of no help either so I'll have to wait until you have a chance to take your door panels off. If anybody out there has already taken their gen 6 door panel off and has a picture I would truly appreciate it if you sent it to me

Maybe you can contact a TN member (Avholic?) here who already replaced his 6x9's. His cardomain site also shows pictures of the OEM bracket side by side with a standard 6x9. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3010049

If you make or find a template, please, add it to the sticky notes on the "Gen6 DYI" thread.

The ones they have actually only fit "select 2002-up" models and will not fit the 07-08.

According to Crutchfield the following product should work.

http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...aspx?i=142SA69

They are universal 6x9 to 5 1/4 or 6 1/2 adapters.

That would work if it was a standard 6x9 however as can be seen at the link below it is not a standard 6x9.
