Will this cable work to connect ipod/car ??

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=41002

I have an ipod transpod with a tape adapter, but the audio quality is not that good and it hisses, I would much rather prefer a more fluid sound. Can this cable work with the ipod / toyota camry 99 LE ?

Here is a pic of my current setup(in the middle)

You need to buy an adapter that converts the CD changer port on the back of the headunit to an AUX (RCA) input. Then use a RCA-mini-jack converter to extract the signals from the iPod. You can get the appropriate adapter from Blitzsafe, or PIE, from a local dealer.

Hrm. I have a 1997 Camry and that cable is only for 1998 and newer Toyotas. Have you any suggestions for an Aux input or will I have to replace the head unit?

Repalce the head unit, you'll get better sound quality Anyway. Don't buy a wireless FM modulator; they compress and distort the sound frequencies resulting in lower quality sound- and when you've ALREADY compressed music into mp3s, compressing it again isn't such a great idea. A hardwired ipod to RCA to head unit connection would be best. btw I like your avatar

You'll have to replace the headunit, since pre-'98 OEM units didn't have built-in controls and harness for a changer or aux adapter. I know Alpine, Kenwood, and Pioneer sell an adapter that converts their changer port to RCA input, so you can use something like an iPod.
