Your first link to the existing 6X9s didn't show any; but the pioneer's shown on the other links are preetty good. My buddy has those running off an Alpine7875(?) and they sound really good. Shop around for best prices, lots of shops sell pioneer.

Good luck!

How about now, check out the link, it's not the exact 6x9 I have, I have the TS-6985, it's a 4-way as well, but it has only 260 Watts, I'd also like to know what's the difference betwenn 2, 3, 4 and 5 way 6x9's I want a nice competition system, and I'm saving up and buying the components...any tipz would be appreciated

You serious?
2way = woof + tweet
3way = woof + mid + tweet
4way = woof + mid + tweetsX2
5way = ? not sure. Does someone make a 5way?
Component sets are separate mids + tweets usually, sometimes a woof,mid and tweet.

If you are building a system from scratch, here's the usual process:
1. Replace factory head unit. You can run your factory speakers off the new hu if you please no problem.
2. Replace factory speakers. If you are just going to run them from the hu amplifier don't get the highest rated wattage speakers. Remember the higher wattage rating, the more watts you need to make them shine.
3. Add sub and amplifier. Can't run sub from hu amp, need a separate. This process includes lots of extra wiring and if not experienced, should be done by a pro.
4. Amp the remaining speakers. Again more wires and expertise needed.

There are lots of info to be found on these subjects including the sticky thread here with links to car stereo sites. Spend some time studying and then shop around and find a good shop that will take the time to answer your questions and audition their wares. The info I've given is very basic, but gives you an idea. Get to understand wattage ratings, they can be confusing especially comparing continuous vs peak ratings.

Good Luck and have fun.

Gene.

personally i prefer 2-ways in the back for some ambient fill, too many tweeters back there and argh!!!!! but that's just personal choice

as your going competition, the best thing would be to save up now and buy all your qualtiy components the first time around rather than buy one thing..hate it...buy a new one etc...also, you might want to go have a good listen at waht you can get to help determine what you will buy. 6x9's are good but because they are not round like a six inch they tend to distort a bit ease711roy

Huy

sorry if i sound disjointed...so sleepy
