OE Sirius install question

Hey everyone, I'm trying to hook up this Sirius unit I got from a xA owner who put in a new stereo. To those of you who have Sirius but don't have it active, can you hear audio on Channel 158? Mine is just saying "DEACTVTD". I need to know if this is normal when the unit hasn't been activated yet.

So, can you hear audio on 158 when Sirius is deactivated?

If anyone needs to know, this is a Scion xB headunit in a '01 Spyder.

Sounds normal. I know that there is 1 preview channel that you can get without having it activated so that you can test alignment and stuff. The lettering on the dash should also be a good indication.

Hmm...

When I put it on channel 1 it has no audio. It also doesn't say ANTENNA or anything like its supposed to if I unplug the antenna.

Maybe I've got a bad tuner...

I think it's channel 184 that gives you the free preview
