Problem with TC radio in Tacoma

Hi,

I am installing a radio from a '05/06 TC in my '08 Tacoma. This is the radio with the in-dash 6 disc changer. The first one I used I got from another TN user and he was using it in an '05 Tacoma and it functioned fine. I installed it and it displayed that it had 6 discs in the unit. When I tried to eject the discs, it displayed eject for about 1 second, then back to the radio. If I try to load a disc, it shows disc full. When I press "disc" to play the cd. I get "error 3". I am told that this is cd player jammed. The guy I bought this unit from refunded my money, no foul, I will try to get another radio.

SO, I got another '06 TC radio with the 6 disc changer. I installed it in the truck and I get the same thing?? This cannot be coincidence, can it?. Am I missing something specific about startup of this radio? A security code? There is a sticker on the unit about setting the radio in "shipping mode", but does not state how to get out of shipping mode.

The radio functions, the display color changer works, the audio setups work .

Help please!! Thanks

I have a similar problem with my '05 XRS. I wish I could help you, but I just wanted to warn you not to try resetting your ECU. I reset my ECU, seeing if that would reset my deck and clear up the error, but now my deck is acting like it doesn't have any discs in it, even though it's full. It's not fun. I hope you figure out how to fix this problem. If you do, please let me know.
