nav headunit + aftermarket nav capability

I'm trying to find a headunit with navigation that I can have the option of using aftermarket navigation software like Garmin, etc. I like the Pioneer AVIC-D3 but correct me if I'm wrong, you can't use aftermarket navigation software with it. I also need it to have an Ipod direct connect with it.

Thanks for any help!!

yeah I saw that model. But what I'm looking to do is have the capability to load different navigation software CDs into the headunit to use.

your not going to find any nav unit that allows "different software", choose which map system you like (navtech for instance) and make your choice. Its going to be a 1 time choice. Even the AVIC-n1 n2 n3 n4 d1 d2 d3 have progressed through the upgrades, but its still the same base software (thus why you can upgrade a 1 to a 3 with a slight modification).

Kenwood has teamed up with Garmin. And you could always look into a Car PC and try to get your favorite GPS software running on it.
