Ipod2car & 30gig Video ??

Brief history.... I've had an ipod2car unit for many years - in one vehicle, and now in my 2007 toyota tacoma. I've used a 4gig nano on it for years flawlessly. My steering wheel controls worked and the nano always went into 'pause' when I shut the truck off (I leave the ipod hooked up in the truck).

I have a 30gig video now that's hooked up to the ipod2car. I'm not sure if this is just a characteristic of the ipod being that it has a hard drive in it or something else I'm not familiar with about the ipod.....or even the ipod2car.

I've been trying to figure this out.... The 30gig rarely goes into PAUSE when I shut the truck off. And when it doesn't, it'll keep playing for hourse.... and my steering wheel controls don't work. Sporadically - it will go into Pause and I unpause it by clicking radio on/off quick (like I did with the nano) and my steering wheel controls will work. If I manually reach down and pause the ipod - I'll have to manually unpause it and again, the steering wheel controls don't work.

I've been wondering if my method of turning the truck off (engine off, key off, etc) has anything to do with putting it into Pause mode...??

Anyone have any insight? I'd like to see it act the same as my nano did - pausing itself and having steering wheel controls functional. What am I missing?
