08 Camry LE - Amp,LOC & Sub Install(w/Pix & video)...

Yesterday my son & I installed a LOC, amp & a subwoofer. The LOC is from P.A.C.(PAC Trunk L.O.C.),the amp is a Profile Baja rated 200w @ 4ohms x1/350w @ 2ohms.Right now it's running @ 4ohms and the subwoofer is a Dayton 12" Quatro which I got on sale for $70 from Parts Express. The enclosure was a previous one I had laying around which was bigger, cut it up & salvaged for a final .85cf of space. The carpet is on order and should be here during the week sometime. The amp was installed under the rear deck along with the LOC.Maybe sometime(if I can find time)in the spring or summer I want to do a fiberglass enclosure in the corner of the trunk for more stealth.I'm happy with the over sound I get with just a subwoofer added. It took us about 6hrs. total ,most of that was spent laying on my back in the trunk.Anyways if u have any questions feel free to ask. Here's the link to the pix... http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v4...#37;20Install/

becareful with amp overheating since the amp is upside down the heat will go back into the amp instead of out through the heat sink.

as gsman said it could be a problem if you start pushing the amp, if it works than cool, if you ever have a problem with it you could just suspend a platform a few inches lower and hook the amp to that right side up. enjoy the new system.

I was just planning the same thing for my 07 SE. I now see where to run the power cable through the firewall. Can you tell me where and how you picked up the remote power on for the amp. I was thinking about taking out the head unit and splicing into the radio power.

Thanks, Peter

PM sent as well.

With this setup I did not have to take the HU out.Everything was done in the trunk hence the name ''TRUNK LOC''.All in all it took me & my son about 4hrs. from start to finish.I posted a pic of the instructions that came with the LOC,simple straight forward & works like a charm.I will say that adding a sub really makes a difference and I'm mostly surprised with how the sub just blends in with the stock system. The sub is only getting 200w @4ohms,I'm planning on getting a dual 4ohms sub so to take advantage of the 350w available @ 2ohms.Anyways heres the pic any Q.'s feel free to ask.

Thanks, that helps a lot. I'll check the Scosche LOC I have and see if it has trigger as well. I like the PAC for that feature, otherwise I will pop out the head unit and get my amp trigger from there.

the amp is fine how it is mounted but if you are worry then you can add a little fan near the amp.

How do you keep the sub in place while you drive. I didn't see any fastening or straps to keep in fixed.

There are L-brackets on each side(not seen in pix, added this weekend) ,they're screwed to the box then secured to the sheet metal. The box was wedged in with no brackets for about a week & didn't budge. It's better to be safe than sorry especially with all the potholes. Oh all the wiring has been cleaned up using split loom & zip ties.
