No-amp OEM vs. Amp OEM

OK I have a no-amped cassette player in my 1995 Camry LE, it broke so I have a good friend who owns a junk yard and he gave me one from a 1996 4Runner with a OEM cd player. The cassette player has the style connector for AMP, but the car does not have an amp, so it only has the 2 plug standard connector. Is there a way to just splice some wires and bypass the amp? I have a after market wire harness that gives me labels for the OEM connector, so really if theres a diagram for the wires that go into the cassette from the amp, could I just splice that and get it to work?

Any help would greatly be appreciated.. thanks in advance.

I'm sure you could bypass the amp.
... but I think the audio forum might be better sutied to give you a more detailed answer to this one...

premium sound systems with built in amps are the worst creations ever... a lot of the time you have to swap out all the speakers and headunit just to change one thing. More so in Luxury cars (Volvo, Benz, BMW, Audi, more). Some, if you're really lucky have adapters available.

The only way you can get the 4Runner radio working is with its OEM amp and all the wiring harnesses. The radio is only a preamp, so it is useless to get it working without the proper supporting parts.
