CarPC/Carputer Questions

Okay, I'm not a novice when it comes to computers, but I'm pretty green with the concept of a carpc. I'd like to be able to build something that would have a fm tuner, cd/dvd read capabilities, and a hard drive for playing stored mp3's. I understand that I would need to wire this up to an lcd screen, preferably touchscreen. I'm not all that concerned about gps, but if I could add in the functionality later, that'd be awesome. Now, the one thing I do want to do up front as well is have the capability to wire in voltage signals for guages and have them be able to display while I'm driving (anything with a voltage, but for me probably engine temp, oil pressure, etc. I'm saying it like that because my car is OBDI. If anyone could offer good sites where I can find out more about this, any recommendations, that'd be great. Thanks!
