I've been installing alarms a long time, nothing will tell you which window was broken, or which door was opened. They can tell you that it was a door or was a window, or it got hit, or jacked up.

I'm a fan of the Clifford stuff, the 70.5X has a color LCD remote, good range and all that jazz. You're not gong to find a whole lot of high end alarms without remote start. GPS is available as an add on.

REMEMBER, Even the greatest alarm is garbage without a GREAT Install. Talk to your installer, make sure they have looms that will match your factory toyota wiring, Also make sure they are going to hide your sirens and brain units very well.

i agree with postrin, you wont have a great alarm if you dont have a great installer. i've always wanted a CompuStar alarm but they're expensive. my next option would be a clifford also with a two way pager.

i dont have good advise on alarms but talking about installers...

i got my alarm installed by this guy that said he was sent to school for this. his shop paid him for the school. so i asked him if he can hide everything away and to cut my spare key that would remotely start my car.

over a 2 years i start having problems with my truck and i thought it was the alarm. so i go to disconnect everything and i find my remote start key under the steering column cover not cut and obvious to what it is. he used readio speaker wire wherever he needed to extend the wire. the module is behind my interior fuse box and you can tell which ones are the alarm wires.

this made me somewhat upset but that is what you get most of the time when you dont do your job yourself.
