Old Alpine Amplifier...

I just got an old Alpine Amplifier (for sub's) form my friend. I'm just wondering if you guys know much about the quality of these?

I only plan on using it to power a Pep-Boys $40 sub special because I'm cheap like that, n'all...

I suppose it doesn't matter cuz the amp was free, but just wondering what you all think/know...

That amp is fine. Be careful not to blow your sub.

dont buy anything from pepboys, ever.

and especially not car audio
you could at least goto a decent place like circuit city and pick up some shit when theres a good sale (buy 1 sub, 50% of second) or buy 2 subs get a free box. just remember you get what you pay for.

I think you failed to realize that I said I'm doing this in a cheap manner.

I know where you're coming from, but I have better things to spend my money on than a $150 - 200 per speaker sub, with out an enclosure.

I just want something to round the sound out a bit. I don't need anything super like dual 15's or something obnoxious like that.

If you're looking for something to even the sound out, perhaps you should upgrade your interior speakers and use that amp to power them. Adding a cheap sub like that will most likely make your radio sound worse.

No one said anything about "dual 15's" I am almost sure by buying that shit ass sub that its definatly going to make your stereo sound like ass. I agree with jajay721, buying new door speakers and powering them would round your stereo off better.

And if you have better things to spend your money on, why bother buying stereo equipment at all? If you like to listen to your music you should either do it right or not at all.
