My upcoming system, any suggestions?

I'm planning to build my system in a few months. I already have the sub for it, but it is broken so I will need to send it in to get it fixed. The sub is a Digital Designs 9012 (sorry DD doesn't have a page for it) sub. I am planning on getting a 2000w Audiobahn amp to power it, most likely the A1500HCT or perhaps the A18001DT (1800w) if I need to save a little bit of cash. This is going to be a competition system, it will have dual adjustable ports that will go through the 2 speakers holes in the back of my car.

I will most likely stick with the headunit I already have, but possibly buy a DSP for it. For speakers, I will buy the Polk Momo MM6 component speakers or possibly the MM465 (I'm not sure if they can only handle 25w RMS, if that's all, then hell no)and put them in kick pods. Those speakers will be matched with the Polk Momo C300.2 amp. I will have no back speakers due to the subwoofer. So I was thinking to get more sound in the car (mid-bass, mids and highs) I may put a pair of Polk Momo coaxial speakers MMC650 into the front doors in the stock locations. The only forseeable problem I have with this is that there will be no sound coming from behind me (the driver). I obviously can't mount speakers into the stock rear locations due to the sub so I don't know where I could put speakers in the rear. I don't really want to do custom work on the rear deck, not to mention I don't know what will clear those bars. I don't want to put speaker boxes on the rear deck and they're too tall to fit under the front seats.

So if anyone has any suggestions on how to take care of my problem, let me know. Also, so you know, the reason why I am using Polk Momo and Audiobahn products is because I can get them at price through my job, not to mention they're certainly not bad products. I also plan on getting an Optima Yellow top and either getting a new, more powerful alternator or just have mine rewound (depending on costs). I'll also probably get the trunk and front doors sound dampened. The retail (for both sets of speakers, the polk amp, and just one of the audiobahn amps) is about $2000. Total on ebay would be $1000, not sure how much I can get them for at price from work. I figure I'll be paying about $1500 when I'm done, but that would (hopefully) include everything else.

Well if you're sticking to Audiobahn and Polk products...

What are the specs of your sub?

I generally don't like the high current Audiobahn amps. They are highly inefficient. If you do run one, I would say a new alternator is a must. I don't know what you're trying to accomplish by the Momo amp, I'd go with a small Audiobahn 2-channel for the front components. I'm not sure how much you're willing to spend on speakers, the Audiobahn ABC components will sound comparable to the Momo components.

The amp is perfectly matched for those speakers. They're also made by some really good company, forgot which it was but my boss told me about it.

That amp is a bit overboard I think for your needs. You can save a bit by buying a lesser quality amp. If you want it, it's your peragative... it just doesn't match up with the rest of your system.

I may just get the C400.4 instead if I get 4 speakers. But I still don't know what to do about adding sound into the rear.

Most 4 channel amps that put out about 50 watts RMS x 4 is enough.

Finese1-
That all depends on how much you are willing to spend, what size amp you need and for what purpose. If you give me the specs of what you need amped, your head unit and price range, I can set you up with a few suggestions.

Look for a mono block amp then..

Viper, DEI, PPI 1000watt amps are definately worth the cash.

Crossfire VR1000D work nicely.

These may be a bit pricey. You can go up, down whatever. How much you looking to spend?

JBL makes a decent budget amp (1200 watts), but it is 2ohm. It all depends on what you're looking to power. What head unit are you running? Do you have the stock battery/alt? Are you willing to upgrade? How much are you willing to spend? Are you going to run another amp for interior speakers? Give me all the details of what you're looking to do and what you're looking to spend.

Just an update on this... today I ordered the Polk coaxs MMC650s and the Polk/Momo C400.4 oh at uhm 65% off retail ($70 and $200). I also ordered 6.5" Infinity Kappa Perfects components for $150 ($500 retail). I think I like my benefits at work, but then again this is through accomodations and not the in-store discount. Polk and Infinity are the only companies we get discounts in for car audio. Something else to mention is 50% most Logitech stuff. Waiting for the GT4 wheel to come out and then gonna get some nice 5.1 speakers along with it.
