i believe JL used the same dustcap until the w7 came out so that could be any sub but my guess is they are w0's. pull them out and see if their name is on the magnet.

Alright, I pulled out one of the subs and all it says on the magnet is JL Audio. I went to jlaudio.com and compared pics, my subs look pretty much exacly like the W0. So I guess those are what I have.
They are 125watts RMS, so would it be ok if I used an amp that made 150watts RMS?
If the subs only has a single voice coil on each, then it is a W0. There used to be a W1, but that predates 1998. All W3's are DVC'd subs. Thus, even if there isn't any identification on the magnet, you can tell by how many voice coils there are even if the dustcaps look similar. Nowadays, the only domed dustcap is the W0 line, the W3 has an inverted dustcap. If you want to check for impedance of each, use an ohmmeter to find out what it is each, then find an amp that is capable of the parallel load.
Not sure if Tweeter is close to you:

But you can get the Kenwood KAC-8151D for $103 + tax. It may be a floor model, but the original warranty still applies. This is a dedicated mono-amp for subs.
check for bumpyness
another way to tell if the speaker is a W0 is the cone of the speaker is slightly bumpy where as my W3 is smooth, W6 are also smooth
i have never seen in person the discontinued W1 or W4 so could not help you with those
from the pic you have i dont think it is a W0 but can really see bumpyness in those pics
Dont forget about the W4's guys. They were in production at the same time as the W1 and I would venture to say that they were produced for a short time after the W1 was canned. Take a pic of the back of the speaker and I can tell you what it is
