sound system advice help this nub =)

ok guys when it comes to sound systems im a total rookie. its one of those things ive always wanted to do just never did it. in the past i usually just buy whatever random stereo that looks good and replace the stock speakers with some like pioneers or whatever looks good.

but now with my tacoma whatever i do with it i wanna do it right. so the head unit i was looking at was the kenwood 8120. but as far as some decent speakers go for our trucks and amps, or how much power i need.. i am lost. so mayby those of you with some knowlege on the subject can help me out.

the sub i was looking at was the JL audio Tw5. i am unsure how to house it though. anyone know of a good enclosure that it will fit into?

i have an 08 double cab tacoma.. any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks

Check out www.supercrewsound.com for sub boxes. They are pricey, but they're good. You can also look into some behind-the-seat boxes in a double cab.

You're going to have to decide what budget you're working with and what kind of sound you're looking for. As long as the amp is matched to the speakers in power rating, you're going to get pretty good quality. Stick with speaker brands you've heard of, and my advice on amps is to go to www.crutchfield.com and find an amp you like, then go buy it on ebay.

A few things off hand.
What is your budget? Are you going for a good system or just a little better than stock?

These threads are some good reads with allot of good info:

i dont shop on a budget the price is the price and if i cant afford it i wait until i can. or buy in peices.

so pretend there is no budget and you can get whatever you want. but just keep it within reason. im not looking for competition grade stuff just somethign that will sound good and can bump when i want to and when i watch movies or tv it will sound good.

im thinking of the kenwood 8120 head unit for starters and some speakers to replace the stock ones just not sure what ones or what kinda sizes i can fit.

as far as the sub goes im thinking the JL audio 13TW5 if i can get my hands on a good quality box that would fit behind my double cab 08 and whatever amps or other things i need which i am unclear of since ive never done a full system before.

i basically want a good system with good parts i dont believe in doing anything half ass, i also want it to look very clean/hidden

my main concern is housing the sub and where to put the amps and such.. and also if there are any speakers that stand out from the rest in terms of replacing the stock ones.

I went for sound quality setup and i can not complain it sounds great. i can post pics if you would like. all the amps are mounted behind the back seats. i have a 07 double cab. i installed it all myself so if you have any question let me know.
