yea is it a loud buzz? i get that too.. i have a phone holder on my vent and i can always tell before i get a call from the speakers..
i dont think i get it when im playing cd's though.. just radio.. i figure its the radio waves interacting with the cell radiation or something.. but then again, what would i know?
Thats not a problem with your car. Its your cellular phone. Thats normal. It happens around yoru television and older computer monitor also. The only phone carrier whos phones dont have that effect are SPRINT phones. And that was one of the main reasons I stayed with Sprint for so long. So dont worry, it aint your car; its your phone.

it's the same thing as if you receive an incoming call when your cell is near computer speakers, the speakers start making a noise, i kinda like it,
cause i know something's coming in on the cell
It's the receiver, not the phone. I had a Pioneer reciever and and has that buzz sound with almost all phones that were in my car. Now I have a OEM deck and I don't get the buzz anymore.
I guess some decks are more prone to picking up interference. I'm sure Pioneering has fixed that problem now because my dad's newer CD player does not do that.
what up Statiks its me dave from best buy representing from worcester with the 1996 camry on 17's and a killer system talk to me on AIM at daveeisner69 haha man go worcester
cell phones on high frequency signals, microwaves from what i recall. Hense all the fear of them causing cancer. Throw your head in a microwave on a verry low setting and see what happens. Anywho the problem is just interference. if its only in some speakers it could be that the wiring isn't well enough. Im guessing it is mainly a problem with sprint because of the strong digital signal with the pcs service. If it's in your head unit you could try insulating it by putting a rubber membrane arround it. not sure if that would work. could always place your phone in a place far from the head unit. Just some idea. just keep in mind it's interference. happens even in tvs. so insulation MIGHT solve your problems. dunno much about microwaves. might be another type of metal or a chemical that is better at stopping them.
Inductive current created by electromagnetic radiation from the cell phone. An electric field causes current in a conductor, and vice versa. Keep your phone away from your head unit, or insulate and isolate the whole electrical system, and relocate the head unit away from the phone. Electrical systems in cars are really just a side effect of driving the car, and even the engine load can affect current flow through the system. The few ways around it are too much effort for me to bother with.
I had my cell phone near my speakers once and it made noise before it rang like you're saying, but that was about a week ago and my speakers do that every few minutes now and my phone is nowhere near it or ringing. Maybe they're picking up microwaves from things? Is there any way to make this stop? It is very annoying and this is the only site i've found anyone talking about this happening. If my speakers are permanently damaged it would be nice to know and fair warning to anyone else to put a cell phone near computer speakers.
Does it do it when you're in the city? Our Camry does, and I've narrowed it down to three possibilites:
i) Other people on cell phones
ii) Subway lines and electrical interference
iii) The radio signals just getting weird from all the metal in the buildings
on the subject of the noise...it doesnt happen to me when my cell rings but....i hear a HIGH-pitched sqeal sometimes which works in with my intake sound....so it sounds like a little turbo....i think it might be the frequencys being screwed up

LoL...its really not a big deal...it just gives u another sec. to pick up ur phone... or do what i do... pretend to be a magician and anticipate the call... works all the times- =)
"how u do that?" - "MAGIC!"
you could try insulating all open conductors, or moving to a more heavily insulated wire. I myself don't have this problem. Couldn't really tell you why, but i did insulate everything well, and used a decent gauge wire. I have a pioneer head unit, pioneer 3 ways all the way arround, and 2 lightning pro audio 12", 300 watt subs in the back. Really happy with my sound, and didn't cost me an arm and a leg (subs were $20/piece (I <3 Promos)). I imagine if you use some wire with some nice thick rubber arround it you'll probably be alright unless it's you head unit that's affected. In which case you'll have to insulate that area. Good luck.
