Hi MikeS,
I bought 1 yesterday at Costco and I've been trying to build a POI file showing FlyingJ truck stops. After about 15 tries I still can't get it to work. Keep getting an error telling me the latitude info is wrong.

I doubt there's anything wrong with your Magellan per se. I would
NOT return it unless Magellan suggests you do so. POI files can be, errrrmm, "entertaining" or maybe problematic is a better word.

But once you get the hang of it, I guess they are do-able. You should go here:

Aside from that particular (hopefully) relevant thread, you should get acquainted with that site (register, become a member, etc.). Many very bright people there, but some can ride you hard if you don't even try a preliminary search before posting!

There are, apparently, more than one POI editors around. Someday when I want to get serious I'll pick one up. So far I manually enter stuff, or go with a AAA or Magellan POI file. AAA Members can get a free sub with their AAA membership - check out the AAA website for info.
I LOVE my Magellan Maestro 4370. Works like a champ in my '09 Corolla S.
BTW, the MP3 player in it is great too, as is the BlueTooth interface. The
only problem I have is sending / receiving SMS text to/from the GPS unit. CLID data is passed ok. That MAY be my AT&T Fuze (aka HTC Touch Diamond, etc.). Still investigating that problem. Everything else with it works just great.
