Weird speaker crackling after installing new HU

I installed a new Pioneer HU in my 2001 Camry with the JBL audio package. I used a wiring harness recommended by some nice folks on this forum and everything was easy and worked great.

BUT...

After a few months I started getting weird crackling noises from the front left speaker. Only when using either the iPod connection or the CD player. Using the aux input or the FM radio was noise free. At first it only crackled now and then, but it has gotten increasingly worse. It happens most often when braking or when going over bumps. It seems like the momentum of the car has something to do with it.

I have taken the deck out and checked all the wiring connections multiple times, and nothing fixes it. Also, the power of the new deck blew out the ancient rear speakers. I haven't gotten around to replacing them, I just moved all the sound into the front speakers. Could this have anything to do with the crackling noise? It's a terrible sound that gets louder with the volume of the deck, and it's only out of the left front speaker. Sometimes the speaker will cut off completely, but a swift pound on the dash brings it back to crackly life.

Any ideas? Please help! Thanks!

I would check your connections at the speakers. There may be a loose wire that is touching metal which is causing the crackling noise. I recommend at minimum, you should insulate your connections with electrical tape. For a more professional look, use heat shrink tubing.
