Australia 2003 Toyota Kluger (Highlander): Installing an amplifier and sub woofer

Hey I've been searching all of the net trying to find a way to install an amplifier and subwoofer into my Kluger (Highlander). There aren't RCA outs in the back of the stock head unit, but i dont want to buy a new head unit. There is another spare plug on the opposite side from where all of the speaker, power and ground cords are. Im assuming this is an input for steering wheel controls, but wanted to make sure there was no way to some how buy or make an RCA out for this 12 pin plug???

any suggestions

cheers guys

You can get a line out converter and connect it to the closest speakers. The LOC will attenuate the signal from the speakers and output line level on RCAs which you can connect to the amp. I've seen one LOC that also has a remote out so that will save you some wiring but I don't know how well it works.

The power wires you'll have to run yourself.
