2 problems

first off im running an 8 gauge wire from my bat. through the fire

wall and down the driver side to a spit fuse box that go into my

two amps(sony 4 channel + mtx mono)my first big problem i that

when the car is running there is a loud buzz in the speakers and

when i accelerate it gets even louder. Second is a remote

problem, when i turn the radio on the amps kick in but when i go

to cd they shut off and i had to make a switch to turn them on. I

thought this was the deck but i got a new one and i have the

same problem with the amps not going on. Any suggestions

would be great i have alot of time to try them all. Thanx

The first problem you are having is called engine noise. This is a bit complicated as to how to get rid of it. there are many theories. your going have to determine weather the engine noise is comming off your RCAs or your Power wire. CHances are it's comming of the power line. In that case you will need to mess with the gains on your amp, because what you are doing is drawing too much power thorugh such a small wire. For a 2 amp setup you realy want to be running 4 gauge at the minimum but really u want 0 gauge. switching to that will most likely shield a lot of the engine noise making it so you can run higher levels of power thorugh your amp. but first turn your gains on your amp way down, then turn up the volume on the deck and rev the engine. then keep raising the gains and turning down the deck just a little each time and repeate this until u start to hear engine noise, then go back a step so that it's gone. that is most likely the easiest way you can get rid of it, jsut might not like the fact that u have to keep your stereo low.

[SMAN]'s correct about the power cables...
here's a link to a page that should clear up a few points on amplifier installation.

what u're experiencing witht he buzz is called alternator noise. Basically, the magnetic field generated by the power supply wires have induced a voltage in either the signal or the speaker wires.
Separation is the key...

here's another link to a page that might be of some use.

About ur amps cutting off, ensure that the power wires are connected to the battery terminals and NOT the accessory wires. Most power amplifiers have '+ve', '-ve' and '+12V REM'. +ve and -ve connect to the battery terminals and the 'REM' connects to the accessory wire so that ur amps only work with the key in the ACC ON position as a protective measure.

1. check that you have a solid ground wire connection on your amps.

2. you wired it up wrong. check your wire colors again.
