Problem with Kenwood 5120 and iPod...please help!

Alright. I just installed a new Kenwood dnx5120 and the ipod adapter.

The ipod will play over the head unit, but the head unit will not recognize that the ipod is connected. It will not charge or control the ipod. I think it has to be hooked up right because there seemed to be no other way to hook up the ipod adapter to the head unit. The ipod is a 3rd generation nano.

Any ideas?

Does the iPod work fine when not hooked up to the head unit? Does the dock connector on the ipod have other issues? Like when syncing it to your computer?

problem could be that the Deck doesn't accept the nano. I've installed radios that aren't compatiable with some ipods. Check kenwoods website on compatiable Ipods for that unit. If it is on the list then check the connection of the ipod cable to the deck, could be a faulty ipod cable.
