It says in the article if your an audiophile you may not like. I think for a lot of folks that want a basic upgrade with a little umph, this will do the trick.

I will probably stick with a good amp.

It will be louder, but the sound quality of an amplifier comes from better isolation of the power and audio signals. Taking the noisy output from the hu, then re amplifying it, again in a very small box, will result in a pretty high level of noise. This unit may aggressively suppress the noise, which would be better but still degrade the audio somewhat. A digital amplifier also has less SQ for audio. I'm not saying this product won't be perfect for some people, but to fit behind the hu some sacrifices will have to be made.
