Which is better? JL 12w6v2 or (2) Hifonics Brutus 15s?

I have one JL 12w6v2 in a sealed box with JL 500/1 amp but I was thinking of trading it for two Hifonics Brutus 15s in a kicker box with Hifonics Brutus 1600 amp. The JL sub is worth more than twice as much as one Brutus 15 so is the JL a lot better? I haven't hooked up my system yet so I can't compare how they sound to anything.

The JL's are a much better product than the Hifonics.

IMHO JL cannot be beat in SQ. 2 12W6v2's when powered properly can push about 144dB. I know because that setup beat my 12W3v2's at 142.8dB LoL. Go JL and power it with a minimum of a JL 500/1. Don't go cheap or you'll be very dissapointed and possibly even blow the speakers. I've seen too many waste a good set of speakers by powering them with LANZAR 5000watt amps, which can't even produce a third of the power and quality a JL 500 watt can. I've built many systems, but JL holds first place in my list.

Dont trade your top notch SQ subs for those things, youll regret it. JL is on the top when it comes to SQ, i have a single 12" w6v2 in a sealed box paired with a 500/1 and its amazing.

If its SPL your going for i would just switch over to a ported box, just make sure the specs match with the sub.

Ported = spl and sealed = sq.
