Hello all!
So, I want to put a powered subwoofer in my xB and would love suggestions for a really small powered subwoofer.
Does anyone have experience with something that is stock looking and stealth? I really do not need anything huge sounding but, would like something to help out with bass that is not a fixture that takes up trunk space (like the Bazooka sub!)
Thanks in advance!
I thought of the Infinity basslink but it is actually too big (10"). I recently heard of the Kenwood wOOx which is 8" but was wondering ifthere was someone that had experience with this or something smaller. The Echo has a subwoofer option that is 8"so, I was wondering if anyone knew about that one...
i heard the infinity bass link at circuit city and it sucked. Maybe it was blown or something, but it didnt sound too good. Personally, I dont really like powered car subwoofers. For about the same price, you could get a better component system.

Hello...a little ignorant here. What would a good component system be comprised of? I just want nice clean sound that can be played loud if I like (so that the speakers aren't straining to porduce the highs and lows), but not pounding bass...Thanks!
Not sure about the Circuit City that you went to but the one I work at it is bolted onto the wall but the panel rattles so it sounds bad. But if it is bolted down securely on a stable surface that doesn't rattle it will sound good. I would personally stay away from power subwoofers like the plague.

I can understand that someone who wants heavy base and also to be able to feel it would probably stay away from an all-in-one unit but, tell me what would the alternative be for a small location and also not to have to use an amplifier?
Like the plague? If it sounded OK then what's the diff?
well powered subs are generally smaller so they dont play as low, also they dont get very loud at all, and I mean many aftermarket speakers will play almost as low AND get louder.

Bazooka's only sound really nice in a hatchback type of vehicle. The back seat will kil about 50% of the sound (at least mine does...but maybe its the leather). Image dynamics makes subwoofers that will fit in really small boxes (around .5 cu. ft.). And if you want a clean trunk, you can install your amp under one of your front seats (thats what I did). By putting the amp under your seats, it will not only give you more trunk room, but it will also save you money on your wiring (9 ft cables instead of 16).
w00x is ok, but you'd be better off changing out the factory speakers to some decent aftermarket componet set. the provide about as much bass as the w00x, but require no space.
bass tubes are also ok, they will definatly put off more bass than a w00x or a componet set, but they dont sound that great SQ wise.
