I've tried everything and don't know what to do!!!!

Pissed off

I put a pair of 5.25in Alpine Type X components in my front doors of my 98 avalon xls and the tweeter on the passenger side blew/distorted really easy. So I replaced it with a new Infinity Reference 1021t textile tweeter, well that distorted, so I thought I had a shotty crossover, so I added the low pass filter that came with the Infinitys and replaced it again, and still, same $(*&#ing problem.

Mind you that the drivers side one has never distorted and is actually set higher than the passenger.

I have checked my wireing, remounted it, messed with the treble level. I'm at wits end and dont know wtf is wrong.

Any suggestions???

What amp do you have, try a different one perhaps, it seems like your amp is sending too much/dirty power to one side. Type x's can handle a lot so I wouldn't just keep swapping tweeters in, I doubt that's the problem. Also, Once you get this sorted out you are going to want the same tweeter in both sides, or it will sound like crap.

I'm using my factory JBL amp that powered my "premium" sound system. its located to the right of the glove box.

I was thinking about upgrading my amp but I thought the one I had now was good enough. I bet your right about it being the cause of my problem because I don't know what else it could be.

I really like what I've heard about the Alpine F300, I already have one alpine V power amp and I love it. I preemptively ran 4 gauge wires, turn on lead, and RCA for the Rockford Fosgate T1 I want so all I would need is a distributor block, some more RCAs, some speaker wire, and about 8 more feet of 4 gauge wire.

Its seeming more logical to hold off on the $300 sub and box and just getting a 4 channel amp instead.

I don't know about that sound system, but I know many are supposed to run unto very low resistance speakers to increase volume without increasing power, that could be causing problems. The amps definitely my bet for the problem though.

I got my alpine 4 channel amp and installed it! PROBLEM SOLVED!!!!!!

It doesnt work with my factory subwoofer so I ordered a sub and box today. My audio system is almost complete, i just need a 10 farad cap, sound deadening, and an optima yellowtop!!!

don't waste your money on a cap. Do the big 3, and then if you have problems buy a high output alternator. If you want to get a battery, but really a better use of your money is the big 3 and a h.o. alternator. Sound deadening is a great idea.

I picked up a YellowTop at my local Costco, I had to order a battery terminal to make it work so the big 3 shouldnt be a problem to do.

Well a yellow tops a good battery, so no waste there, but just don't buy a 10 farad cap, because a 10 farad cap from a brand that isn't sketchy is half the price or more of a h.o. alternator, which would help a lot more. Just do the big three first, and then if you still have problems such as dimming, then go for the alternator.

you can also add a small secondary battery. the cap will do little for you. it is more of a band-aid than anything else. if you are going to spend the money on a cap spend the same for a second batt. or as mentioned above go to the Alt. (always the best choice.)

Also be careful with the Optima batteries. they do not hold up well to the high current draw of today's amplifiers. they will wear out much faster than they used to. also do not let them run dead. If you let a yellow top drop below 2-3 volts total it will start dropping cells and they will not warranty it.

The batteries that are used most often today are Stinger, Kinetik or Oddessy all basically the same batteries with different labeling and sometime a subtle difference here or there. but they will hold up much better.
