about to order a system

alright after doing some research...im about to order this system

headunit - http://www.sounddomain.com/sku/PIODEHP5500MP
6 1/2" speakers - http://www.sounddomain.com/sku/ROCHPC2206U
6 x 9 speakers - http://www.sounddomain.com/sku/ROCHPC2369
amplifier - http://www.sounddomain.com/sku/ROC801S
subs - http://www.sounddomain.com/sku/ROCRFB4102
cap - http://www.sounddomain.com/sku/ROCCPC1003

i was planning on getting the 2 12" subs from rockford, but they are currently out of them...so i put the link for the 2 10" instead. but my current plan is to wire the amp to the subs, and run the speakers of the headunit...and later down the road...wire an amp to the speakers. its gonna run me about 1grand. and should i get the cap? i posted previously, and someone mentioned that i should get a battery instead. would i have to replace my current battery? or put two batteries in...and if thats a case...then i have like no room under my hood...and im not tryin to get rid of the a/c either :-p

thx

I really really really really really don't like RF. You could get better for cheaper. Do some research at www.caraudio.com/vb

The only bad part about saving money and getting better products is that you can't order it all from the same place. Oh well.

I've had no problems with the two Pioneer decks (mine+gf) I've used in the last few years, and I think you would be pleased with them (I have since gotten a Kenwood). However, I don't think that is the best model for you as it only has 2 X 2v preouts. If you want to amp all four speakers in the future, and have a sub also, its best to have a deck with 3 preouts (front, rears, + sub). Look at other models.

Also, you will probably not have to upgrade the electrical system with that size of amp you've listed.

hey....whats wrong with Rockford???? haha nah, i have an RF amp but dont fancy it too much. I like the fact that it has the bass boost knob so you can play around with that.

Get:
Head Unit: Alpine
Amp: Rockford or MTX
Subs: Image Dynamics
Speakers: MB Quarts, Diamond Audio, Focal (or if money's an issue....get polk or infinity)

Nah, what you got there is fine. Its all preference.
IMPORTANT: make sure you listen to the stuff you buy before you buy it. You dont want to make the mistake of buying something...installing it...and then having it play shittier than you expected it to.
And getting a cap is recommended...especially since youre running 800 watts to your subs

and why would you want a two channel amp to power your subs? its only gonna put more of a strain on your electrical system.

I think the Pioneer 7500MP would be a very good choice. All kinds of flexibility.

I also think you'll need two of those amps to power two of those subs you gave in the link.

the amp 501bd = 300wrms X 1 @4ohm

the subs = 400wrms dual 8ohm each. Just looking at one amp per sub the dual 8ohm is fine, you wire it for a 4ohm load to the amp which will give you 300wrms. And you want to put two subs on that amp? Not knowing the 501bd personally, just looking at the numbers,I think you'll be way underpowered.

Maybe look at some other rf subs that don't require that much power to move them.

And the diff bw the 800s and the 800x?
800s = 2channel, 200wX2, 800wX1
800x = 4channel, 100wX4, 400wX2 (this is the kind of amp you would need to power the four interior speakers, 4 channels, 4 speakers)

Read the specs, get to know your stuff before you spend all your money

Gene.

Dont get a mono amp if your subs will be running at a net 4 ohms. Mono amps are made for 2 ohm loads. If you buy a mono amp for a 4 ohm load, then you'll be wasting your money.

^mono amps can be run with different loads. I have one that gives specs for 4, 2, and 1ohm loads. You just get different power out depending on the load.

The rf 501bd quotes 300w@4ohm, 500w@2ohm. So he could in fact run the 4ohm load to it.
