Keyless entry programming?!?!

Hi all

I lost my keyless entry remote for my 99 4runner a while back so I bought a new one on ebay and don't know how to program it of course. I called the dealer and they want $50 to do it.

I heard it's easy, just wierd.

Can anyone help me out??

Here it is for a 200 Camry, it may be the same:

All doors unlocked, drivers door open
Insert key and remove(do not turn)

Lock and unlock doors with button on drivers door 5 times(1 sec
intervals)

Close drivers door, Open drivers door

Lock and unlock doors with button on drivers door 5 times

Take key insert and turn to On position then to lock Twice, remove key

Locks should cycle lock to unlock by themselves if you completed the
sequence properly and it is equipped with keyless entry

In the next 10 secs or so complete the next step :
Take the remote and hold lock and unlock buttons at the same time for
about a sec and then press either lock or unlock for a sec. If the
locks cycle the programming was a success.

More than likely, you will need to find the keyless box. On it will be a green button, with the ignition on press the green button until the security light illuminates. press the top button on the remote, within 5 secs of the light lighting up. Then turn the ignition off.

IT WORKED!!!!

Hey silverstreak it worked!!!

Thank you so much.

I bought the remote on ebay for $17 and programmed it myself, just a little cheaper than the combined $200 the dealer wanted to rip me for the remote and programming!

The 4runner is so much classier now that I don't have to use the key to un/lock it anymore.

thanks again

Congrats man!!! I like helping people save money!

Oh, my post above says 200 Camry, it's supposed to say 2001 Camry I believe.

Just as a note, I bought a couple of remotes for $6.95 each on ebay...as long as they have the same FCCID at the back, you can buy whatever you want...mine were for a Celica, they were selling cheaper than the Camry ones.
