Gen 2 Camry rear speakers Question

I recently bought some 6.5" rockford's to replace the stock in the rear. The stock come with mounting plates attached together with the speaker as one unit, that as you who have the same car know are screwed into the plastic unit that raises the speakers up. How have you guys modded the rear speakers area to fit your speakers, as my new 6.5's didn't come with mounting plates to screw in...

You have to cut the speaker from the mounting plate (the metal piece).

Then mount your new speakers to the mouting plate. You'll have to drill some holes for the screws, but its no big deal.

What would you recommend, a dremel?

Or just fab one out of wood?

A dremel would work. Or tin snips / sheet metal scissors.
