Repost? 01 in dash 6 in 99 Solara...

Okay, I just bought a 99 Solara SLE V6 with the JBL stereo in dash single CD, Cassette, tuner. I bought the JBL in dash 6 CD changer, cassette, tuner from a '01 Camry (salvage). I also got the amp and harness from the donor car. I have heard differing opinions as to whether the 01 will be plug and play with the 99 Solara wires. No biggie EXCEPT there is a cut in the harness from the donor car. Like 12 wires. Fuck. I'm just wondering if anyone can definitely answer if this is a simple swap of JUST the head unit or if I'm in for some custom work. I do NOT want a trunk or glovebox stacker unit-- I want the in dash OEM in a 99 Solara. Thanks!

should't be too hard.....what might help would be a wiring diagram for the headunit that you've got......

but in the end, there are only so many wires to an audio system, and with a voltmeter/ammeter and some patience, you should be able to match all the wires.....

and also keep in mind that sometimes, it may take more that one wire to make something work, i.e. power antenna
