DIY on Radar Detector?

I've got a Valentine 1 I'd like to hardwire into my 09 Camry, anyone tried this or have a DIY on it. I'm planning on tapping into the map lights or the garage opener, and mounting the radar up near the rearview, but any help/input would be appreciated.

It would probly be easiest/most simple/safest to wire it off a fuse. When my hardwired radar detector was smashed and grabbed (the second time) it took out all the wiring it was attached to with it. It's really easy to push the power wire behind the dash, pillars, headlining.

Okay, but how did you wire it to a fuse, I know it probably would work to just strip some wire, pull the fuse out, and push the fuse back in with the exposed wire on it, but do you know of a less rigged way of doing it?

I just wrap exposed wire around the LEFT (protected) side of the fuse and run it where ever power is needed.

I really admire that you have a V1, it's hard to the core and the best out by far, but without a mute button it doesn't belong in my car. I hate false alarms so much I sprung for a Escort 9500i.
