Adding a second battery to sound system

Hey...My name is MiltonJ. i live outside the US.......

Im having a bit of trouble adding my second optima yellow top batterie to my sound system ..can anyone send me a diagram and show me how to do it?

this is what i have.

1 HIFONICS TXI1008D
1 CAPACITOR
1 DHD POWER CRUISER
1 OPTIMA YELLOW TOP, IN THE FRONT.
1 OPTIMA YELLOW TOP IN THE TRUNK.

how can i wire the 2 batteries so they can charge together, then wire then to capacitor so i can charge also.

do i have to change the alternator, then stock one is 80amps/

do i have to remove the fuse box from the front to wire the 2 batteries?

anyone help plz!

This would be for the way you are asking.

I would prefer this way in my own car.

You probably should upgrade your alternator to something bigger if your running your amp on a 1ohm load, above 1ohm you should be fine until you have the lights, heat and wipers on at the same time, then just turn it down.

You can think of adding a battery this way a 12 volt car battery has 6 2volt cells in it, they are like little batteries stuck together. In example one it is wired to make the cells bigger, so they can store more power, and you can get more amperage. In example two it is like adding 6 more cells, so you get more voltage, 24 volts actually, that is bad in most situations, your alternator won't charge them because it needs to be at a higher voltage than the batteries to charge them (around 13.5 - 15 volts for a 12volt system) and if the batteries are put in with a charge already in them they would most likely blow your lights and kill your ECU.

Thanks man very much for your help!.

Yes the hifonics amps is running 1ohm. so i think i might need to change the alt to 100 or 130amps. the oem is only 80amp.

But thanks anyway for ur help!

why you wont use the cap?

Caps generally don't store enough power in them to be any help, A car audio amp doesn't need fast discharge into it's power supply because the batteries are their to charge the internal caps of the amp, the amp then discharges those to amplify the signal, and only uses the car's electrical to charge those back up again. A cap before an amp's power supply is discharged into the amp's internal caps incredibly quickly, it will then start charging back up from your batteries before a single bass note is finished, which will actually lower your voltage at the amp a bit. It's too little to really hurt much, but it isn't helping either, now if you had a large array of caps, it would be different, and a tad dangerous.

Ohh!!! I forgot a very important detail in my diagrams, you are going to want to fuse both ends of the positive wire running from front to back, having a full battery discharge into your cars frame in an accident, or if it chafes would be a very bad thing.

High output alternators are not cheap, and you probably won't be able to get much more power out of a stock case Toyota alternator, but you don't need that much more power anyway.

I choose to use a Ford 3g alternator in my car, it has a lot more potential than the Denso units that come with Toyota's.

I had to trim a bit off from the case, and make the front bracket, but it wasn't really that hard.
