if you're going to do your internals, then spend some good money and you'll hear the diff.....stay away from the low end stuff, and stick to some higher end stuff.....

and also if you plan to do your internals, make sure you get a good 4channel amp w/ them, cuz whatever the power output is on your head unit, it's not true.......

whoop.s.....thought that was your headunit you're talking about....

and *shrug* I'm not a huge audio buff.....

I personally stick w/ JBL semi-competition stuff.....

but in the end, mnost is personal opininon...whatever ppl have, they'll say is the best....

I'd say stay away from rf, sony, and low end pioneer.....

I use MB Quarts and I do recommend them. Once you experience Quart's titanium tweeters, everything else just don't measure up anymore. Focal stuff is suppose to be great too but I haven't heard any of Focal's speakers yet.

I have MB Quart in my Eclipse. They're pretty harsh on the tweeter. Very good speakers, but I think the tweeter would be a bit much for most people. Focal is a bit out of his price range I would assume.

badazzlegnd,
Infinity speakers have good clarity and the Reference series are a very good bang for the buck speaker. They are more geared towards highs and therefore some people don't like them, especially if they listen to a lot of hip-hop, R & B or jazz type music.

The best bet for speakers is really to listen to them yourself and choose the ones you like. Picking out speakers is like picking a car. You can find all the cars in a similar price range, but everyone will debate which one they think is the best for whatever reason. It all comes down to what sounds best to your ears. Go to all your local shops and listen to what they have. Make sure you listen to them hooked up to an amp that produces the same or close to the same power as your current amp. Good luck.

as stated before infinitys are good...id advice u to get those...
i havent heard much about alpine speakers for awhile...
but for clarity i'd go with Infinity's...let me tell u in advance ur not gonna get bass from inf speakers...like the other guy said, but u will get good clean crisp sound...if u want bass get a subwoofer.... thats why they are there....

Just curious. What brand of speakers DO give a lot of bass? I heard Alpine's are pretty good in that department. At Circuit City, the Kenwoods I listened to gave out a pretty good amount of bass as well. I'm leaning towards getting Infinity's right now, but I would like to have bass from my speakers since subs give you the feeling that all the bass is coming from the rear. I want to have the feeling where the bass sort of surrounds me both rear and front without installing a sub in the front of my car.

I've got the 4-way pioneers in the back (350 watt peak, 80rms) and the 3-ways in the front. My Aiwa head unit constantly has the bass amp on cuz I'm spoiled now and it just sounds like crap without it. I tend to keep the volume at about 50/80 which is pretty loud in the front and apparently nearly unbearable in the rear. I installed everything with the help of one of my friends--who also knows nothing about such procedures--and they've worked wonderfully. When I have it really loud and the song has a hell of a lot of base--I'll hear a -pop- once in a while (like once an hour if I keep it that high)--but haven't exactly figured out what that is. When the bass is up, you do feel it. The car actually doesn't rattle anywhere other than the rear window and even then just a bit.

Speakers don't give decent bass, just mids and highs. If you want bass you really have to go with a sub, even if it's something small and inexpensive. And only POS subs give the feeling like it's all coming from the rear. You can't tell where bass is coming from.

corsulian- i'd really urge u to tone down the bass...it sounds like ur just waiting for ur speakers to pop...dont try to get bass from ur speakers, even though u'll get some bass from it dont push ur luck...speakers should really stay in the mid's and highs, and sub for the lows... i mean that why they are made that way... being that u dont see 6" in sub... u get what im saying? cuzz if u did u'd pop it so fast it wouldnt even be funny...
