how to wire Audiobahn

Hey guys i have a 10in audiobahn Special editon and it has 4 positives and 4 negitives. I needed to see if anyone knew how to wire it. I went to best buy and he was like yeah they are all the same just wire it like normal, and of course that didnt work... So i finally found a wireing diagram online and wired it like it said. But it would only work if i touched one of the negitive wires to the body of the woofer itself. so its only going to do anything if it is touching the metal of the sub. Then sometimes it will spark and kick the amp off...So can anyone help me???please... also im using thick speaker wire and a 340watt amp.

Need the specs of the amp and driver to know how to wire it! How many coils and impedance per coil? Never seen sub with 4 voice coils before.

How many channels and how many ohms stable?

Your sub and amp are mismatched. You should get a second identical sub, a different sub, a different amp, or you can run your system at half its potential.

Your amp is only stable to 4 ohms bridged but your sub can only do 2 or 8. If you wire the coils in parallel then you risk the amp burning up or going into protect if you got a good one. If you wire the coils in series then you only get half the power.

If you only run one sub, you need either a sub with single 4 ohm voice coil or dual 2 ohm voice coil if you want to operate your amp in bridged mode.

If you get a different sub, don't get Audiobahn again unless you are getting it super cheap.

I would pickup a different amp to be honest. If the sub is in good shape, then stick with it for now. Grab an amp as you can always swap out the sub at a later date. Look for a Class D mono amp in the 400w range and keep your gains down. I don't know much about that sub, but my audiobahns can take a pounding. Try to pickup a Kicker KX400.1 or something for about $100 used. Plenty of power now and still a bit of headroom to upgrade.

In regards to adding a switch to turn off the amp, you could just wire in a SPST Toggle onto the remote line.
