Venza with NAV Challenge

Greetings from a proud owner of a new 09 Venza. I am coming from a 07 RDX and this is my first Toyota. I have read the majority of the posts in this forum and the Nav manual from cover to cover. However, need help with the following.

Is there a way to display the song title/artist while in the Nav screen mode? In other words, can I view both the Nav screen and song title/artist both at the same time without having to switch from the Nav screen to the audio screen?

Additionally, I purchased the $375 Ipod connector which is located in the glove box. I have a 3rd generation Ipod Nano. It plays fine and I can use the steering wheel controls. However, it does not display folder list/song/artist on the screen as outlined in the user manual. The dealer does not know why either. To me, the Ipod connector is no better than the aux connector if it does not allow display on the screen and allow scrolling thru lists. Am I missing something here???

You are doing better than me I bought a 09 camry with the built in mp3 jack in the center box. I cant even use the steering wheel controls. I have used both I-pod and other brands, no luck hear either.
