Kenwood DNX5120 problem. only on hot/sunny days

I recently had my factory stereo taken out and a KENWOOD DNX5120 installed by the local place. I wasn't very satisfied with their work, but now I've had two problems that I can't seem to fix. When my car is left out in the sun for a long time, the speakers will start to have this weird noise and eventually music becomes unlistenable. This issue has never happened at night or on cloudy days, only when the cabin of the truck gets HOT. I called kenwood and asked what they thought and they said it was probably a harness issue. Would that make sense?

Also, sometimes when i hit the next track button on my steering wheel controls, every once in a while that is ignored by the system and for some reason the MODE is changed instead. I dont know how to fix either of these issues. I took it in to the place where it was installed and they didnt do anything to help me

the next track/mode issue happens during both cold and warm weather, whereas the first issue only happens on hot days

Have you pulled out the unit and checked their work? See if they even used a harness. If they did soldering, then make sure they used shrink wrap or that their tape is fully covering the connections. If they just used quick connects, then make sure they are all secure. Finally, make sure all the connections are secure (i.e. the plug(s) into the stereo, the plug from the harness to the factory wiring, etc.)

i have the dnx 6140 and have not noticed anything yet either on mine so i agree with checking all there work. i did my own install for this reason you are having. and for the steering wheel interface problem, i had about the same problem in my camaro ss and i had to reprogram the pac unit two or three times.it worked fine afterwards. (dont have one in the tacoma yet local store out of stock past two weeks)
