Compustar generally makes good entry level alarms. If you want more security and features you generally have to go to another company.

But their 2WSS 2 way alarm is pack with features and the security is awesome. It can respond with the car within 2 km and it uses the Spread spectrum technology used by military? Have u heard of that?? I search through the web and I found the best is 2wss. But on the reliability point, I am not sure about it.. Any other forummer have experience with this alarm???

BTW, thanks for the reply jajay...

I'm a CompuStar authorized dealer. I sell lots of FM, but hardly any SS. SS has a different transmitting signal, supposly better but the fact is NO. Range wise CompuStar is the best ones out there so far. With concrete wall in the way basically all alarm transmitting signal decrease big time. But with CompuStar FM I can get signal from 2nd floor to 2nd underground parking still.

Well I've got that model without remote start. I'm fairly happy with it. Like bma said, range is good. I personally haven't had problems with walls blocking the signal. I can dis/arm the car and receive pages sending from 50 yards away through a steel door, 6 steel frame walls one brick wall, and one computer equipment closet (at once). Sometimes I get weird glitches where the remote doesn't accept my keypresses, but I think that's more user error than equipment error.

Compustar has autostart that is manual transmission compatible....I don't think the DEI (viper et al) systems have that.
