Both the doors and the rear deck hold 6.5" speakers, but the doors likely need "shallow mount" to avoid interfering with the window when fully rolled down. The doors also require adapter brackets (e.g. from Scosche).

I like the Sony MEX-BT5700U head unit because it does all the Bluetooth profiles including A2DP and AVRCP 1.3 -- which means that you see the artist and track name on the display when playing music from your mobile phone or iPod Touch.

The CDT liquidation sale at Woofers Etc. has some good deals. I'd recommend mid-bass for the rear deck and full-range for the doors. (This is assuming you're going to install a 4 or 5-channel amplifier.)

If you're only going to use your head unit's built-in amplifier, check out the 2-ohm speakers from Infinity, such as the Reference Series or Kappas.

the back is easy the front not so much

this is what they look like b4 u take them out

then after u drill out the rivets

then what i made to put the new speakers in its 3/4 in mdf cut to shape of old thing

then screw new speaker in i recommend solder the wires they come loose if u just crimp them which i learned.
then u need to find some screws that fit the holes and i put lock washers on there to keep them from coming loose. sorry no pic of the finished thing

i put pionner 6.5 all around which is y i had to use 3/4 mdf becuase these have a very long back but they fit , so if u add 3/4 mdf u can fit at least a speaker wit a top-mount depth: 2-1/4" but otherwise u can fit almost anything u want with the mdf and ur not stuck with shallow speakers.

here is link to the new version i have ones form 07 in there

http://www.crutchfield.com/p_130TSA6...43P.html?tp=95

there nice u might need an amp to really push them i have a panasonic headunit that puts out 35rms from the hu it self which was the most i could find w/o doing a amp.

the backs u just take out old one and put in new ones be careful not to split screws holes they can split if u put too long screw in

eveything will sound better with an amp its ur call i didnt run one but it will depend on ur hu what i can put out. what i would do is put everything in. if the speakers arent up to what u would like, becuase alpines are nice, then decided if u need and amp. its alot more wiring though cuz u need to run everywire from the speakers to either the trunk or inside car under seat or something

what u look for is the rms
power range: 2-80 watts RMS (240 watts peak power) is the ones u posted then look at ur hu its prob like 18-23 somewhere round there. u prob wont need one but if u want to push the speakers to their max then ull def need one. try just the hu and go from there

Did you buy a Toyota wiring harness? ($5 shipped on eBay) You should always read the diagrams and double-check, but the colors do match between the Toyota wiring harness and the Sony wiring harness.

p.s. Why did you buy a new head unit that doesn't include Bluetooth? Even if you got an MEX-BT2600, that's $120 shipped, from eBay ( HookedOnTronics).

I didn't want to pay for bluetooth because I already have a jawbone
