Gen6 Gen 6 JBL HU replaced, Now about to replce speakers.. Help.

Ok, Im new here and this being my first post, I could use some good feedback.
I recently replaced the factory JBL head with a Kenwood DNX9140 and It is great. I have kept the JBL amp & speakers. They sound good, but I would like better. I know the rears are 2 way 6x9 and can easily be replaced, but my quesiton is this.

The front speakers are a 6x9 woofer in the door and 65mm mids in the dash, How would one replace them with componets being that the mids and woofers run to the AMP (I think) Following me here?

The AMO is not bad power wise and unless there is a good reason, I would like NOT to replace it. Also, I would imagine that adding a SUB is no big deal with the DNX head as it will do the crossover for a sub.

Does the JBL amp do anything special in this car?

O yea, I have a 2009 SE

Thanks and appreciated.

Are you using the JBL amp or the internal amp on the HU? The JBL amp is kinda weird as you mentioned because it already has a crossover and separates the 6x9 and mid. Component speakers have their own crossover so you're probably better off bypassing the JBL amp and using the amp on the HU or adding another amp. Also you have to keep in mind that the stock speakers are 2 ohm and almost all aftermarket speakers are 4 ohm.

maybe the reason why some of those speakers are 2ohms is because there are more than just 2 pairs of speakers. Maybe there's another pair of 3.5" speakers/tweeters somewhere in the front part of the dash because like the previous post, aftermarket speakers are generally 4ohms.
