Just got the sundown in the mail today and installed it. Have a comp tomorrow in hopes for another trophy.

I'm not on diyma but I do lurk there a lot. This sub is only a 12" but is an SX model. I will be upgrading to a pair of 12" SSA Icons sometime soon when the money is there.
The first box was built by a guy in Canada for a Rockford Fosgate P3. The RE sounded decent in there but the box was only 1.75 cubic feet but was tuned at 30hz so it held it's own. The current box I have is aimed at more of an SPL box 2.0 cubic feet tuned at 40hz which is way to high for my personal liking but it gets better numbers.
I bought the Sundown back in march as a presale and they finally came in yesterday. Just guessing but the sub is probably seeing about 1200watts now and hits pretty hard. I'll be getting on a meter today at full power in hopes to see 140 at least. Who knows. I'll post pics after today's comp

I hit 140 tonight but went out of my 500 watt limit. I did 140 even on 768 watts. There is a lot of headroom with this sub and amp setup but staying in the 500 watt limit is killing me. The next class up is a lot more competitive. 2-12's and 1000 watts. Tonight's winner in that class hit 146.8 db so it's too far out until I can get another sub.

Anyways, got second again

It's hard to say how much money I've got in this beast. There's a grand easy in the trunk plus the alternator was damn near 500 bucks. The sundown is the third amp I've used in this car so there is some additional cost that is no longer in the car. I'd say I've probably dropped a good 2500 bucks. The time I've spent on it is ridiculous. I've been at it since January of this year but haven't done much in the last couple of months.
That's funny I thought I was pushing 1200 watts to the sub.
