Okay, so i bought these MTX thunder speakers for my corolla about 2 weeks ago the first couple of day they worked without any problems at all, after a while i started hearing crackling noises from the rear speakers. The speakers only work once in a while, like they will work for about 10 mins and stop working and then a couple mins of driving later they randomly start working again. if i go sharply around corners they work and rigt away stop working again. I thought it might have been a loose connection but ive checked all speakers and the connections are really good, ive connected the speakers to the cars original harness. Any idea what the problem might be?
How new a car is it, maybe factory wiring has a pinch/short. Going around corner then they play, sure sounds like a moving wire or something. Try the speakers off a friends car.
i actually figured it out i think, one of the wires were grounding on the cars metal body...so i put some heat shrink wrap on it, ill try it out for the next few days and see if i have any problems
the wiring harness that was on the original speakers i used a soldering iron to heat it up and remove it from the old speakers...there was a wire that came with the new speakers which had butt connectors, so i connected the old wire harness to the new wiring using heat shrink wrap..and that about it

Are your cables physically touching each other? because I don't know if shrink wrap is conductive. so if your wires come apart it's probably having mini arcs in the shrink wrap, so the signal will be present but crap. you should either solder or crimp your deck connections, then shrink wrap the connection to protect it from coming apart. It's either that or your speaker voice coil is burnt, and it's probably scraping. This also happens when people play to much bass in their coax speakers and they over extend the voice coil so it bottoms out and becomes sometimes out of line. Either too much bass, burnt voice coil in the speaker, poor connection, or (but most likely not if it's new) your deck is producing a bad signal, in other words a bad deck. Good luck!

when you shrink wrapped the wires together, did you do wrap each wire seperate or together? Make sure no wires are touching each other, no metal is touching at all or strands of wire. good luck
