Viper alarm/RS in 05 Sienna

Hello everyone, I am installing a Viper remote start and alarm system into a 2005 Toyota Sienna LE. I have all of the wires hooked up and the alarm is responding to lock and unlock signals, but the car will not remote start. I can hear the relays trying to start the car in the viper unit, but there is no crank. I metered the starter wire from the brain and looked for +12 volt while trying to remote start the car but it does not show. I also have the 556u hooked up to the car with a key in it so im pretty sure it's not the security bypass.

Currently, I have the starter wire from the brain hooked up to the heavy gauge black/yellow starter wire. I have a suspicion that the brain/unit may be faulty since i haven't been able to see the 12volt on the unit's starter wire, but i still want to make sure I've wired it correctly. Do i need to seperate the car side and key side of the starter wire (tech tip #1077) for this remote start to work or should the remote start be working? Is there a special way to wire in the unit to the sienna that is a little different than the standard? Thanks for the help.
